Jesus commanded His disciples in Matthew 28:19 to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” It is our desire to help our students begin fulfilling this command while they are students at Calvary and to help them see their place and play their part in the global church. As a school, we have a partnership with Camp Chisomo in Malawi, Africa. Our global ministry includes our annual dollar drive and an exciting opportunity for 8th grade to be announced later this year!
About Camp Chisomo:
“Camp Chisomo was built on the idea that every child deserves a childhood. Bono, the lead singer of U2, said: "Where you live shouldn't determine whether you live." We believe the same is true for possessing a childhood. The country you are born in should not determine whether you get to live out your childhood. But it does. Children in Malawi, Africa are often forced to skip this monumental part of life. The daily obstacles they face frequently take place of learning and growing necessary for development. The loss they have encountered is impossible to imagine, and often leaves these tiny humans in the shoes of adults without the mental, emotional, or spiritual development of adults.
We believe Camp Chisomo will provide a place where these kids can be kids. We want to provide an environment where spiritual and physical needs are met, and build a culture where childhood is valued and children are equipped. We want to tap into their intellect, passions, and goals and empower them with skills and knowledge that they can use to impact their families, their village, and the world.”
