Bryon Ritzema

Soccer, Boys Basketball

Family – Wife: Erin, Kids:  Calie (16), Ben (14), Maddie (12), Abbie (10)

Bryon has been teaching/coaching for 20 years, the past 18 have been at Calvary Academy.  His hobbies

and interests include the outdoors and he especially enjoys fishing.  He also likes going out to eat and spending time with his family.  He has been a lifelong Minnesota Twins fan and is waiting for another World Series title!

Bryon's favorite bible verse(s) – Philippians 4:4-7.  “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice.  Let your gentleness be evident to all; the Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but through prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.  And the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”

Kimberly Bolkema

8th Grade Volleyball, 8th Grade Girls Basketball

Family: Husband: Anthony, Four Children (ALL BOYS!): Lucas (5), Nolan (3), Andre (3), Joshua (20 months)

Kim graduated from Trinity Christian College and has been at Calvary since 2007 teaching physical education.  In addition to teaching, she also coaches girls volleyball and basketball and has been for the past 9 years.  She enjoys seeing kids active and through that activity learning how to get along with one another and treat each other and their opponent with competitive respect. 

Some of Kim's hobbies are being outside and being active! She also enjoys taking her boys to the park and on walks, playing at the pool in the summertime, exploring nature, running and biking.  Along with that, she loves to bake sweet treats for her family and friends.  

Kim's favorite Bible verses -  2 Corinthian 12:9 & 10b, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness...For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Sarah Waterstone

7th Grade Girls Volleyball

Family: Husband- Matt, Kids: Willem (5), Bram (2)

Sarah has been teaching at Calvary Academy for 8 years, 3 years in 2nd grade and starting year 5 as a part time P.E. teacher.  Before moving to South Hollland, Sarah lived in West Michigan where she attended Hope College.  While at Hope, she was on the swim team and also coached water polo at a local high school. 

Some of Sarah's hobbies and interests is spending time with her family, being outside and being active.

Sarah's favorite Bible verse: Hebrews 12:1-2 - "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverence the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith."

Janell McGuire

5th/6th Grade Volleyball

Family – Husband: Nate McGuire, for 8 years. Nate is a Calvary Academy graduate

Janell has been the director of Calvary Academy Day Care Center for 13 years. She has been working in daycare for 18 years. She coached volleyball for Calvary Academy 12 years ago and came back to coaching Volleyball in 2015.

Some of Janell's hobbie includes going to Disney World, and taking vacations with her family. She has been playing, coaching or umpiring softball since she was 6 years old. She enjoys coaching because there is nothing like a bond that only being a part of a team can provide.  

Janells favorite Bible verse- Colossians 3:23-24 “ Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Family: Mother, Father, Brother Jordan

Meagan played on the girls basketball team at Calvary from 2003-2005 and graduated from Calvary Academy in 2005. She is a proud alum of Marian Catholic High School (2009) and the University of Missouri (2013) also known as Mizzou. This year will be Meagan's first year coaching at Calvary Academy.

Her hobbies and interests include watching and playing sports, especially basketball, baseball, and football. She also likes listening to and playing music, drawing, painting and spending time with her family and friends.  

Meagan's Favorite Bible Verse: 1 Peter 4:10 (ESV) "As each has a received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace."
