Fine Arts “Beauty is God’s handwriting.” --Anne Louise Flint The role of Art Education in a Christian school is to help students artistically express themselves and evaluate that expression with God's perspective. Children should learn to express themselves in their art by glorifying God through it. Their art must investigate all facets of Christian expression through many creative perceptions and thoughts. Through the study of Art, a student should increase in his/her ability to express his/her Christian faith in a creative way. A student must learn to apply God's standards to Art by using different media and expressing opinions through artistic expression. A student must also be able to properly evaluate his/her final works of art; therefore, putting Christian faith into artistic practice. It is important for the Christian artist not to turn away from the physical and sensory world, but to embrace it as good because it is God's handiwork. He calls us to use Art expressively through His word. |
