Admissions Procedures

Calvary Academy is committed to a Biblical philosophy of education which integrates Christian principles and scriptural truths with the academic and social experiences of every student.  Calvary Academy was founded to work in concert with families by teaching the same Christian truths at school as the children receive at home.  Our policy on admissions reflects this philosophy and so requires that at least one parent or guardian of each applicant give a credible profession of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and be a regular attender or member at a Christian church.  We endeavor to enroll students who will exhibit the Biblical values of showing care and concern for others in our school community, as well as a demonstration of enthusiasm for the learning process.  Families seeking admission are evaluated on the basis of their admission questionnaires, interviews, responses to pastoral statements, and potential to perform satisfactorily at Calvary Academy.

Kindergarten Admissions:  On entering kindergarten, the child must be five years of age on or before September 1 to be eligible for admittance in September of that year.  All students entering kindergarten will be screened to ascertain their readiness for the kindergarten program.  A copy of the student’s birth certificate is required for kindergarten applicants.

First-Grade Admissions:  All students entering the first grade must be six years of age on or before September 1.  All students entering first-grade will be screened to ascertain their readiness for the first-grade program.

Second through Eighth-Grade Admissions:  Students entering grades 2-8 must provide copies of recent standardized test scores with their application and may also be tested at the time of the interview.
